Lexington firefighters practice fighting house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Flames shot through the roof and smoke filled the Lexington sky on Wednesday from a house fire that was deliberately set, but it wasn’t arson.

A company that owns the house wanted to get rid of it, so the Lexington Fire Department was allowed to set it on fire to give 50 firefighters some practice fighting a house fire.

The controlled burn was near the corner of Citation Boulevard and Georgetown Road.
