Fire Department: Lexington firefighter arrested for shoplifting

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lexington Firefighter Robert Perkins was arrested on June 26 in Fayette County on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking (Shoplifting) under $500, according to the Lexington Fire Department

Perkins, who has been employed by the Lexington Fire Department since 2006, has been placed on paid administrative duty, which is customary procedure. Fire officials say his status will remain pending the outcome of the criminal investigation, and an internal investigation will follow.
