Fire burns Woodford County home

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Woodford County family was forced from their home because of a fire Thursday.

The fire started just after 11 p.m. on Amsden Avenue in Versailles.

Firefighters say the homeowners smelled smoke and noticed it coming from the attic.

Firefighters arrived, cut a hole in the roof, and quickly extinguished the fire.

The cause is still being investigated, but firefighters believe it could be an electrical issue.
