UPDATE: Devine Carama collects 2,500 coats in his 7th annual coat drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington activist and hip hop artist Devine Carama reached his goal Tuesday of collecting 2,500 coats.

This is his 7th annual coat drive.

Each year, Carama’s non-profit, ‘Believing in Forever, Inc.,’ put on the drive for kids in need.

He says in the last six years, he’s given away over 10,000 coats, but someone has to provide those coats.

He collected monetary donations and brand-new coats alike to reach this year’s goal.

Next is making sure kids in need get the coats. Carama sets up volunteers to help distribute mostly using his Facebook page.
