Final bourbon in Papal Series released by Lexington-area priest
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A well-known Lexington-area priest is wrapping up a bourbon project that’s been years in the making — and all for a good cause.
Father Jim Sichko has released the final bottle in his “Papal Series,” an 11-year wheated bourbon bottled at 125 proof. As of Tuesday, collectors can bid in an online auction for one of 25 bottles, purchase raffle tickets for one of three bottles, or donate $1,267 to secure a bottle outright.
The auction and raffle run through Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Sichko says all proceeds will benefit charity, including the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund and Trooper Island.
He also hopes to hand-deliver bottle No. 1 to Pope Leo XIV.
