Film “Bluegrass Spirits” seeking extras in Lexington and beyond

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The movie “Bluegrass Spirits,” is looking for extras in Lexington and the surrounding communities.

The film is inspired by Kentucky’s signature bourbon industry and will star Hollywood actor Jake Busey, son of Gary Busey, in a major role. Busey recently finished working on “The Predator” a sequel to the 1987 sci-fi film “Predator.”

Bluegrass Spirits is both a take on the modern-day craft bourbon industry and also a Kentucky ghost story, merging the two concepts of ‘bluegrass spirits.’ This indie feature-film drama is about a recovering alcoholic who owns a failing bourbon distillery partnering with a ghost-hunter. The movie will be only the second non-documentary feature film set within Kentucky’s bourbon industry but the first to actually shoot within the state.

Filming with begin Oct. 17 with principal photography taking place Oct. 24 through Nov. 5 at distilleries and a handful of locations in and around Lexington, KY.

The production company is seeking unpaid extras for the film for:

  • Bourbon Distillery tourists at multiple locations (all ages.)
  • Kentucky Locals at an upscale bar (all ages.)
  • Younger bar scene crowd.
