FEMA disaster recovery centers in Kentucky temporarily closing for July 4 holiday
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Disaster Recovery Centers across Kentucky will temporarily close for the Independence Day holiday, according to FEMA.
Most centers will remain closed through Friday, July 5, but locations in Laurel and Pulaski counties are set to reopen Monday with normal hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
FEMA is encouraging Kentuckians affected by the severe storms in May to apply for federal disaster assistance before the July 23 deadline.
While no appointment is needed to visit a center, individuals can still apply for aid and get updates by visiting FEMA’s website.
