Felony drug arrest in Pike Co.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have arrested a Michigan man on trafficking charges after receiving a tip about marijuana coming in to Pike Co.

Troopers say their investigation led them to Christopher Higgins, 48, of Stockbridge, Michigan, in the parking lot of the Pikeville Food City in the early evening hours of Tuesday..

According to officers, a KSP canine unit caught a scent on Higgins’ vehicle.

Police say inside the car, they found about 8 pounds of marijuana.

Higgins was arrested and charged with trafficking.

He was taken to the Pike Co. Detention Center.
