FCPS holding meeting for new superintendent search

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The board of Fayette Co. Public Schools is holding a meeting Saturday to determine how to move forward with the search for a superintendent.

On Sunday, the board fired Proact Search after discovering a Chicago Sun-Times article that accused the company’s CEO of inappropriate conduct with students when he was a teacher at a Chicago-area school.  The CEO has denied those allegations.

The meeting Saturday will focus on determining a new search firm.  It is being held from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the district’s main office on East Main Street.

The board is also going to meet Friday from from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to look at the redistricting committee’s proposed new school boundaries. The board says it won’t make a final decision at this meeting.
