FCPS cancels all weekend activities due to expected winter weather

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Fayette County Public Schools has canceled all school activities, athletics, and community partner events scheduled to take place in FCPS buildings this weekend due to expected wintry weather.

According to the district, all events planned for Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25, are canceled as officials monitor weather conditions and road safety across the area.

District leaders say a decision regarding classes for Monday, Jan. 26, will be announced Sunday afternoon.

FCPS officials emphasized that the safety of students and staff remains their top priority and encouraged families to stay safe and warm as winter weather moves through the region.
