FCPS calls another snow day for Wednesday as winter weather continues to impact roads
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Fayette County Public Schools has announced another snow day for students, canceling classes for Wednesday, Feb. 4, as icy and snow-covered roads remain a concern across the district.
District leaders say a decision about afternoon and evening activities will be made by noon Wednesday. Families are encouraged to keep checking FCPS.net/weather for the latest updates and district guidelines.
With Wednesday’s closure, FCPS has now used seven snow days this school year — including Dec. 2, Dec. 12, Dec. 15, Jan. 30, Feb. 2, Feb. 3 and Feb. 4.
The district has also already used four nontraditional instruction (NTI) or remote learning days on Jan. 26, 27, 28 and 29.
So far, March 20 is the only confirmed make-up day on the school calendar, with additional potential dates already built into the instructional schedule if more weather days are needed.
