FCPS announces more bus route cancellations and delays for Monday

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fayette County Public Schools announced more bus route cancellations for Monday, August 23, due to the ongoing bus driver and bus monitor shortage.

According to FCPS, the following routes have been canceled:

AM Bus   2126  STABLES, DUNBAR, LEESTOWN

AM Bus   883    SOUTHERN ELEM, TATES CREEK HIGH, SOUTHERN MIDDLE

AM Bus   1812   DOUGLASS/CGW  MID/HS, EDYTHE J HAYES

AM Bus   320     LIBERTY,  DOUGLASS/CGW MID/HS, MORTON

AM Bus    457    CGW PREP

AM Bus    216    HENRY CLAY, EDYYTHE J HAYES

AM Bus    117     YATES, BRYAN STATION HIGH, WINBURN

The district also reported at least eleven routes involving about 20 schools were delayed Monday.

According to FCPS, if a morning bus route is canceled, it is canceled for that morning only. If an afternoon bus route is delayed, transportation will be available at 4:45 p.m. after other routes are completed and additional drivers are available. Families can choose to find a different way home for their children in the interim.

Superintendent Demetrus Liggins also says the school district has a food service worker shortage.
