FBI Louisville will be hosting a Diversity Special Agent Recruitment Event on Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Special Agents enforce more than 300 federal statutes conducting criminal and national security investigations. They interview witnesses, execute search warrants, make arrests and testify in trials.

The recruitment event will give potential applicants the chance to gain first-hand knowledge from FBI Special Agents as they discuss their training, experiences and the application process.

The FBI hopes to improve its representation in the workforce. Of the 13,000 Special Agents employed by the FBI, around 22% are female and close to 20% are minorities.

The FBI said diversity is one of its core values and it is “committed to recruiting diverse and talented special agents from all different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.”
