FBI asking for public’s help for info on laser strikes in Hustonville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Louisville division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking for information regarding recent laser strikes directed at aircraft flying in the Central Kentucky area.

The FBI says the majority of the strikes have happened over the past year in and around Hustonville between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. EST.

They say this is hazardous because pilots can be distracted or temporarily flash-blinded by the light from the laser beams. The light appears larger at aviation distances, unlike the little dot the laser makes at a close range.

The FBI and law enforcement partners are asking the public for information or knowledge of the laser strikes in and around Hustonville.

You can contact the Louisville FBI at 502-263-6000.
