Fayette School Board Approves Tax Rate Increase
The Fayette County Public Schools board approved a 2.3 cent tax rate increase per $100 of assessed value for the 2014-15 school year.
The vote Monday evening was 4-to-1.
Board member Amanda Ferguson cast the only dissenting vote.
The increase means the owner of a $100,000 home would pay an additional $23 a year.
The tax rate for motor vehicles remained unchanged.
