Fayette has seen highest new COVID cases in last few days

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – With 189 new cases Thursday, Fayette County now has recorded its six highest new coronavirus case numbers since Nov. 5.

The 189 new cases pushed the county’s total to 13,279 total since May 8 when the first case was confirmed in the county, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s daily morning report Friday.

The county recorded no new deaths, leaving the number of people lost to coronavirus-related causes at 103.

The county has had 1,946 cases already in November, putting the month on pace to break previous records, according to the Health Department.
