Fayette daily COVID cases top 20, new death reported
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Another double-digit day of new COVID cases and another death this month are a reminder COVID still is in the community.
According to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s Friday report, the county recorded 24 new cases Thursday, pushing the total since March 2020 to 35,650. That follows 16 new cases Wednesday.
The seven-day moving average climbed back in to doubler digits at 12 cases a day.
The county reported one new death from this month, raising to 324 the number of people lost to COVID-related causes since March 2020.

To keep cases from increasing, continue to follow these guidelines:
• Wear a cloth face-covering in public
• Avoid close contact with others
• Wash your hands often
• Stay home if you are sick
• Get vaccinated when you have the opportunity.
