Fayette County school budget work group holds second meeting Tuesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Fayette County Board of Education’s budget work group will meet for the second time Tuesday as it continues working toward solutions to the district’s ongoing budget challenges.
The group, made up of 31 community members including parents, teachers, business leaders, faith leaders, and students, first met on June 25. District officials say the group was formed to bring diverse perspectives to the process of addressing the district’s financial shortfall.
Tonight’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at The Hill on Midland Avenue.
The board has said it hopes the group’s recommendations will help guide decisions about how to stabilize the budget while minimizing impacts on students and staff.
