Fayette County kids get free back-to-school haircuts and supplies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Students across Fayette County will head back to class next week looking sharp and feeling ready for the year, thanks to a community effort from a Lexington barbershop.

Barbers at Ace of Fadez Barbershop provided free haircuts, food, and school supplies to children, helping families prepare for the start of the school year without the extra financial strain.

“Just trying to give back to the community and do something for the kids that they might have not been able to do at home with their parents or whatever the case may be,” owner Ali Katuzian said. “Just give back to the community, have them come on out, have a little fun, get a free haircut, and some back-to-school supplies.”

The first day of school for Fayette County Public Schools is Wednesday, Aug. 13.
