Fayette County Coroner identifies man who drowned while fishing in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died after an apparent drowning while fishing with friends in Lexington.

According to the coroner, 43-year-old James Darin Langston died Saturday night. The Lexington Fire Department says it was called just before 8 p.m. after Langston was found in the water by a friend.

Officials say Langston had already been removed from the water before fire crews arrived. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later died from an apparent drowning.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
