LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Fayette County constable died Sunday due to “medical issues,” according to a post on Facebook by the Kentucky Constable Association.
Kenneth Wayne Winburn served in District 2. The Democrat was elected in 2018. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Two other Democrats filed to run against Winburn, Jim McKenzie, who previously held the post, and Nickolas Hart. They will face off in the primary.
Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton has 45-days to appoint Winburn’s replacement, who will serve through the end of this year.
