Fayette Co. students participate in state competition
FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Several Lexington students who took part in the 2019 Educators Rising Kentucky conference have qualified for a national competition this summer in Dallas.
Educators Rising is a club for middle and high school students interested in education-related careers. It was formerly known as Future Educators of America.
The statewide competition took place March 5th and 6th in Bowling Green.

Children’s Lit K-3: third place – Janya Wilson and Sabrynn Wright of Frederick Douglass; fifth – Natalie Hollon and Jayda Josey of Lafayette
Children’s Lit P-K: fourth place – LeAnn Khong of Douglass; fifth – Dara Hisle and Cilica You of Lafayette
Creative Lecture: fifth place – Christian Melton of Douglass
Ethical Dilemma: second place – Helena Stevenson-Barnes, Sarah Jones, and Josie Grant of Bryan Station
Exploring Education Administration Careers: second place – Alleigh Baxter of Lafayette
Exploring Non-Core Subject Teaching Careers: fifth place – Emily Allen of Douglass
Exploring Support Service Careers: fourth place – Deshaun Snowden of Douglass
