UPDATE: Fayette Co. inmate back in jail after failing to return from leave
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) -A man who left the Fayette Co. Detention Center July 25th on a court ordered pass, but never returned, is back behind bars.
A release from the LFUCG Division of Community Corrections says that police in Richmond arrested Daniel Wafford on July 26th. They returned him to Fayette Co. on July 28th just after 2:00 a.m.
Wafford is being held on his original charges of possession, failure to appear, and nonpayment of fines, and is facing a new charge of escape.

The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Division of Community Corrections says that an inmate on a court ordered pass failed to return.
In a release, Community Corrections says 27-year-old Daniel Wayne Wafford, Jr. was released at 8:00 a.m. on July 25, but didn’t return at his scheduled time of 8:00 p.m.
Wafford was being held for possession of a controlled substance, failure to appear, and nonpayment of fines, according to the release.
Wafford is described as standing 5’9″, weighing 215 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
A warrant for escape has been issued.
Anyone who sees or knows the whereabouts of Wafford is asked to contact the Lexington Police Department.
