Fayette Co. Board of Education reviewing 14 candidates for District 3 seat
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Fayette County Board of Education members are reviewing candidates for District 3’s vacant seat.
In a Thursday press release from Fayette County Public Schools, 14 candidates met statutory requirements and the application deadline to be reviewed for the seat.
Board members are now in the process of vetting each candidate and will then review feedback and input from the community and select a pool of finalists to advance to the next stage of interviews.
Finalists will interview with the board and one will be selected before their appointment to the position on Dec. 14.
The 14 applicants under review were received from the following people:

- Danny Everett
- Laura Hartke
- Melissa Mohanram
- Jason Moore
- Larry Moore
- Daryl Privott
- Owens Saylor
- Isaac Sebourn
- Travis Shaddox
- Amy Sohner
- Mark Walden
- Kennedy Wells
The person chosen will serve until the next General Election on Nov. 5, 2024.
District 3 serves the eastern section of Fayette County, including Hamburg, Chilesburg and outbound Richmond Road.
