Father of teenager killed in car crash speaks out

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Mark Williams, father of Neo Sanders, remembers the moment he found out his son had died in a car crash on Harrodsburg Road.

“The impact floored me. I started shaking, of course, crying. It was, it felt emotionally like a truck had hit me,” said Williams.

Williams says he left town after Neo’s death. His home was right down the street from where Neo and his half-brother Roan Sanders were killed.

Williams describes his son as a terrific young man with a bright future ahead of him. He says he had great grades and wanted to be an engineer. Williams also says he’s happy to see so many classmates and coaches share the same opinion about her son.

“He was loved by everybody. I thought that it was wonderful that everybody saw the child that I did. The gifts that that boy would have brought this world, we will never know this,” said Williams.
