Fatal two-vehicle collision in Scott County under investigation
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Late Thursday night, a tragic two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Cherry Blossom Way and Triport Road in Scott County, resulting in one fatality, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Incident Details:
On July 11, 2024, at approximately 11:21 p.m., deputies from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a severe crash involving a commercial vehicle and a 2015 Acura. Given the severity of the collision, the Georgetown/Scott County Collision Investigation Unit was called in to assist with the investigation.
Preliminary Findings:
According to initial reports and roadway evidence, the commercial vehicle was traveling east on Cherry Blossom Way in the left lane when it encountered the Acura, which was traveling west in the eastbound lane. Despite efforts to avoid the Acura, a head-on collision ensued.
Casualties and Assistance:
Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton pronounced the driver of the Acura deceased at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including the Scott County Fire Department, Georgetown/Scott County EMS, and the Stamping Ground Police Department.
