Fatal Stabbing Reported in Essie Community of Leslie County
ESSIE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police are investigating what appears to be a stabbing death in Leslie County.
On Wednesday (4/24) KSP responded to a call from Leslie County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) regarding a stabbing complaint in the Essie community of Leslie County, according to a statement from Kentucky State Police.
Troopers, along with deputies, arrived at a residence on KY-406, where they found a deceased male inside a vehicle with apparent stab wounds. The victim was identified as Rodney Bowling, 43, of London.
KSP says initial investigations suggest Bowling was involved in a physical altercation on Oakly Cave Rd., resulting in his fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Leslie County Coroner’s Office.
Detective Clayton Stamper is leading the ongoing investigation, and Bowling’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy, according to KSP.
The incident remains under investigation, with no further details available at this time.
