Fatal motorcycle accident in Danville

DANVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A collision on Wednesday, June 19, in Danville, resulted in one fatality and another individual hospitalized.

According to the Danville Police Department, around 5:30 p.m. on June 19, Danville Police and emergency crews responded to an incident on the 800 block of Maple Avenue.

A 2017 Toyota Rav4, driven by 32-year-old Andrew Stephens of Harrodsburg, was exiting the Bob Allen Motor Mall parking lot when it collided with a southbound 2001 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle.

The motorcycle’s driver, Christian Lindsay, 22, of Danville, and passenger Aubree Carroll, 19, of Salvisa, both wearing helmets, were unable to avoid the crash despite evasive attempts.

Lindsay and Carroll were transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center by Boyle County EMS and later airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Carroll succumbed to her injuries, while Lindsay remains hospitalized. Stephens and his passengers were uninjured.

The Danville Police, with assistance from Boyle County EMS and Danville City Fire, are continuing their investigation.
