1 dead, 3 missing after southern Kentucky house explodes

COLUMBIA, Ky. (AP) – Officials say one person has died and three are missing following a house explosion and fire in southern Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Gregory said the explosion was reported around 1:30 p.m. CST Tuesday a few miles east of Columbia in Adair County. The fire was still burning several hours later, and Gregory said no one was able to get inside the single-family home to search for others.
Gregory said it would likely be Wednesday before investigators can determine what happened.
Adair County Deputy Coroner Greg Mann said three other people live in the log house on M. Coomer Road and haven’t been found.
A state police arson investigator is on scene, along with the local fire department.
