UPDATE: Names of two people killed in head-on collision released

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – A head-on collision left two people dead and another injured Thursday afternoon in Pulaski County, according to investigators.

Deputies say 42-year old Penny Brown, of Carrollton, was driving a 2002 Chevy Suburban east on East Highway 80 just before 3:00 p.m., when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2017 Jeep Cherokee.

The driver of the Jeep, 62-year old Michael Duvall, of Elizabethtown, and Brown, were both killed, according to investigators.

A passenger in Duvall’s Jeep, 50-year old Rholda Duvall, of Elizabethtown, was airlifted to U.K. Hospital in Lexington.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Division is investigating the deadly collision.

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Westbound traffic is being diverted on Highway 80 in Pulaski County because of a fatal traffic accident.

State transportation officials say the accident is on Highway 80 West — the Hal Rogers Parkway — at mile-marker 8 between London and Siomerset.

The accident happened at about 3:15 p.m.

Traffic is being diverted on KY 1956.

No other details on the crash have been made available.
