Fans line up to purchase new Maker’s Mark bottle

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – People began lining up Thursday night for the latest commemorative Maker’s Mark bottle honoring Joe B. Hall and the 1978 Kentucky NCAA championship team.

Most used chairs as placeholders in the line, then headed to their cars to get some sleep.

The bottle is the second in a series of bottles that pay homage to UK’s four most recent national championships.

Next Friday at Keeneland, those who bought bottles can have that bottle autographed by four players on that team, Jack Givens, James Lee, Kyle Macy, and Rick Robey.  It is the only thing the team will sign at that event.  All of this supports the UK Center for Academic and Tutorial Services.

Supporters hope to raise two million dollars.
