Family wants answers to unsolved cold case

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – A family is still looking for answers 23 years after two people were brutally murdered.

23-year-old Linda Gibson and 4-year-old Cody Garrett were found dead in Pulaski County on July 3rd, 1994.

23 years later, still no arrests. The family, held a vigil Monday evening, hopes it will prompt someone to come forward with some answers.

A tense atmosphere at the vigil. Family and friends of the two murder victims were fired up.

They say they are not giving up hope. They believe Linda Gibson may have had knowledge about criminal activity happening in Somerset, and they believe that’s what led to her death.

Police say Gibson’s four year old half-brother Cody Garrett, was unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time.

They were found in a remote field two miles from where they were last seen. The family tells ABC 36 that they will stop at nothing to find the killer.

“Cody was smart to be 4-years-old, he was a smart little boy. Linda was real quiet and shy, just a very loving person. she loved life, she loved her family.”

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, the case is still being actively investigated.
