Families run for a sweet cause at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Thousands watched the derby Saturday at Keeneland, but Sunday, the track played host to an entirely different kind of race, a human one.

Runners took part in the Great Cake Race 5k Sunday afternoon to raise money for Sweet Blessings.

It is a non-profit that bakes special birthday cakes for children facing illness, poverty, or other adversity.

The family and dog friendly race had an especially sweet reward at the end, a cupcake for each participant.
