Families allowed to return home after Lexington gas leak

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- People are back in their homes along Lexington’s Castlebridge Lane after being evacuated Monday afternoon because of a gas leak.

The fire department says a construction crew hit a four-inch gas line, causing the leak. It forced people to leave their homes. And some roads also had to be closed.

Columbia Gas says it shut off the gas around 7:15 p.m. It allowed people to return home. The roads have also since reopened.
