Fallen tree closes Red River Gorge suspension bridge

STANTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A fallen tree has shut down a suspension bridge in Red River Gorge, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The Daniel Boone National Forest facebook page shared these photos of the damage.

According to the post, the tree has been chainsawed off the the bridge, but the bridge is still unsafe to cross.  Repair will require re-clamping of large, wire cables that were pulled loose when the tree fell.

The bridge will remain closed until repairs are made.
