Faculty Votes No Confidence In Transylvania President
Transylvania University’s President Owen Williams received a vote of "no confidence" from the school’s faculty.
The vote was 68-to-7 against the leadership of President Owen Williams, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader Newspaper. The paper said it obtained documents from the school.
Among the faculty’s criticisms, the faculty was unhappy with Williams’ decision to defer tenture for two faculty members.
Williams has been president at Transylvania University since 2011. He had a career as a Wall Street banker and was a Civil War scholar at Yale before coming to Transylvania.
