Facial-recognition technology for lost pets

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Humane Society (LHS,) along with Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control (LFACC) are the first adoption and animal care services in Kentucky using facial-recognition technology to recognize lost pets.

Now, every dog that enters the LHS and LFACC shelters become registered with a service called "Finding Rover." People who have registered with the service can can search LHS and LFACC  from their smartphone or computer to find a missing dog, or search for adoptable dogs.

LHS says registration of a pet is simple and free, and once a dog is registered, they’re in the system for life.
