F.O.P. Honors Fallen Officers At Memorial In Lexington
The Fraternal Order of Police Bluegrass Lodge #4 in Lexington honored the 120 Law Enforcement Officers who died in the United States in 2012, including three in Kentucky, during a ceremony Thursday evening in downtown Lexington.
All of the names were read during a memorial ceremony in Phoenix Park.
The 120 deaths in the line of duty was the fewest losses since 1958, according to F.O.P. Bluegrass Lodge #4 President, Mike Sweeney.
The three Kentuckians killed last year were:
- Officer Mark Taulbee, Hodgenville
- Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Rakes, Marion County
- Chief Herbert Proffitt (Ret.), Tompkinsville
