Explosion at UPS Freight in Lexington injures 2
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people were taken to the hospital with severe injuries Wednesday morning following an explosion at a UPS facility in Lexington.
The Lexington Fire Department says a tank carrying acetylene exploded in a trailer that was parked inside UPS Freight on Blue Sky Parkway just before 7:45 a.m.
The fire department says two people were taken to the hospital with severe, but non life-threatening, injuries.
Six other people were taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
Firefighters say the injuries include minor burns and concussions.
According to the fire department, there was significant damage to the building.
