Event Raises Almost Half Of Humane Society’s Budget
Woodford County Humane Society’s Freedom Fest is a weekend of festivities featuring artists, chefs, and designers.
Saturday’s activities were emceed by ABC36’s Christine Winter.
The event included dinner, auctions, and live music.
Amy Thomas says that while it was fun, it was all about saving animals: "Because we are a 401 3 nonprofit organization, we rely solely on fundraising efforts. This event alone brings in about 40% of our operating budget. So in order for us to do what we do, this is a huge part of how we’re able to have such great success in finding animals forever homes."
