Event planned to honor Kentucky’s Vietnam veterans

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Veterans Day ceremony will be held Tuesday at the Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Frankfort to honor those who served during the Vietnam War.

The memorial features the names of Kentucky veterans engraved in granite and overlooks the State Capitol. Crews recently completed restoration work on the structure’s concrete piers, which support the granite plaza.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to noon on Vernon Cooper Lane. Organizers say it’s an opportunity to remember and reflect on the sacrifices of Kentucky’s Vietnam veterans.
