Estill County Animal Shelter code red after too many cats

ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The animal shelter in Estill County has issued a Code Red alert due to an overwhelming number of kittens and older cats in their care.

Officials are urgently seeking foster homes, adoptions, and assistance with rescues.

With the shelter currently housing 45 cats and having to turn away dozens due to space constraints, they are facing a critical shortage of resources, including cat food and supplies.

Volunteers are also needed to help photograph the animals. If you can offer assistance, please consider reaching out to the shelter to lend your support.
