Escaped Inmate Back In Custody

Police say a dangerous escaped inmate is back in custody after he fled Thursday night.

Officers say they found Robert Waddell around 4:30 yesterday afternoon in Breckenridge County near Rough River Lake.

They say someone recognized him and called police.

Waddell had been serving time for rape.

Police say he escaped while being taken back to the jail, when he poked a deputy with a sharp object and took control of the vehicle.

According to investigators, he drove the deputy several miles before stealing his shoes, dumping him in a rural area and driving off.
