Escaped Bell County inmates arrested in Anderson County

ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police say two inmates who escaped from the Bell County Forestry Camp earlier this week are back in custody.

According to KSP, troopers arrested Billy Potter and Steven Spencer around 4 p.m. Saturday, August 30, in Anderson County. Investigators say they responded to a Flock camera alert of a stolen vehicle with Tennessee plates. After initiating a traffic stop, the two men were taken into custody without incident.

Potter and Spencer had been missing since August 25, when KSP in Harlan was notified by the Bell County Forestry Camp that the pair had escaped from the facility around 8:53 p.m.

The case remains under investigation.
