Equestrian jumping championship to feature sand sculpting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Olympic Equestrian Horse Show Jumping event kicks off on August 20th in Lexington.

More than 70 of the country’s top equestrians will visit the Kentucky Horse park for the USHJA  International Hunter Derby Championships.

This equestrian jumping event will feature jumps made of sand that are sculpted into masterpieces.

One sculptor tells ABC 36 it’s a great way to highlight the sport and celebrate the industry as it continues to grow.

Equestrians and Sport lovers of all ages are welcome to come enjoy the festivities free of charge.
