Emergency exercise in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ky, (WTVQ) – The Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) is conducting a community wide exercise in Madison County on Wednesday, September 16th beginning around 8 a.m.
The exercise will simulate the release of chemicals from the Blue Grass Army Depot.
The Blue Grass Army Depot, Blue Grass Chemical Activity, Commonwealth of Kentucky Emergency Management Agency, Madison County Emergency Management Agency, Clark-Moores Middle School and Saint Joseph Berea Hospital are all participating.
Residents in the area may hear warning sirens that sound like chiming bells.
Ten surrounding counties are also participating in the drill, including Fayette County.
The activities in Lexington take place at the emergency operations center and at the Kentucky Horse Park.
