Elon Musk says Tesla’s future is focused on humanoid robots, not cars

(ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Elon Musk says the future of Tesla will not depend on cars.

Speaking Wednesday, Musk said the company plans to stop producing the Model S and Model X in favor of expanding development and production of its Optimus humanoid robots.

Musk claims the robots could one day clean homes, perform surgery and make much human labor optional. He also described the technology as key to reaching Mars and helping eliminate global poverty.

Tesla first unveiled its Optimus robot in recent years as part of its push into artificial intelligence and robotics.

However, experts remain skeptical, questioning whether humanoid robots will ever be widely useful. Critics say the technology still faces significant limitations that could prevent it from being practical on a large scale.

Industry analysts say while robotics continues to advance, the timeline and real-world applications Musk describes remain highly uncertain.
