ELECTION 2024: Urban County Council race results, districts 1, 4 and 7
Results for the Urban County Council seats for various districts including 1st, 4th and 7th
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — For the local races, including urban county council in Lexington, three districts with seats up for grabs.
In the first district, incumbent Tayna Fogle facing off against Tyler Morton and Darnell Tagaloa.
Morton received 58% of the votes, while Tayna received 39% and Darnell received 4%.
The top two candidates for each district advance to the November 5th general election.
Meanwhile, in the fourth district, incumbent Brenda Monarrez faced off against Emma Lee Curtis and John Brack Marquette.
Brenda Monarrez received 48% of the votes, while Emma Lee Curtis received 30% and John Brack Marquette received 22%.
Monarrez and Curtis will be on the November ballot for the general election.
Lastly, in the 7th district, which is a vacant seat, Heather Hadi, Joseph Hale, Frank Cannavo and William Housh faced off.
Hadi received 40% of the votes, Hale received 25%, while Cannavo fot 21% and Housh received 14%.
Hadi and Hale will be on the November ballot.
Preston Worley who would’ve been the incumbent for district 7, did not run again for his seat.
