Eastern Kentucky University is receiving national recognition for its teacher education program.
The program prepares students to teach on a secondary level. A recent report by The National Council on Teacher Quality and U.S. News & World Report ranked the program in the top 9%.
The joint report measures the level of quality and success of institutions that prepare 99% of the nation’s traditionally trained teachers.
EKU earned three stars, out of a possible four stars. This ranking landed it on the honor roll. Only 107 programs in the nation made that list, out of more than 1200.
