EKU Police investigate terrorist threat on campus
EKU spokesperson, Scott Cason says he can’t say at this time what the message read, but he says it implied violence against EKU students, particularly gun violence.
"We take this matter very serious. That’s why we issued the public safety alert, and that’s why we are going to do everything in our power to investigate this case and try to bring it to resolution," says Scott Cason, V.P., Communications & Marketing, EKU.
Officials are encouraging anyone on campus to take extra safety precautions for their own protection, such as:
-Immediately report suspicious persons loitering on campus.
-If you become the victim of a crime, do not try to detain or capture the criminal. Report the incident immediately to police.
-Walk, jog, or bike in groups of three or more.
-Scan the area between your car and your destination before approaching your car or building.
-Lock doors and windows of your room, or building.
